Player of the Year
David Sigdestad has been named player of the year. "David Sigdestad showcased an excellent example of a defensive standout for the Custer Wildcats in 2014. He led the team with 106 tackles; 61 solos, 45 assists, 6 tackles for losses, and 1 sack rounded out his stats for the season. David recovered 3 fumbles and caused 3 fumbles. On the field, he championed the linebacker position ... making the calls for the defensive squad and working hard to motivate his teammates. Most important was his unselfish style of play, trusting his fellow players at all times. Even off the field, David was a leader in the weight room and took part in numerous projects associated with the Custer Football Program. Furthermore, he mentored younger players and was not afraid to work with underclassmen to build future Wildcats. To say the least, David was an aggressive player, both physically and emotionally ... the kind of defensive player that coaches desire for a strong team."
