Huntland Hornets (Huntland, TN) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Whitwell Tigers (Whitwell, TN), 68-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Huntland upgrades its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Community (Unionville, TN) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 27. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 2-2. Community won 50-40 in their recent non-league bout against Loretto (Loretto, TN)

Next up, the Tigers play the Sale Creek Panthers (Sale Creek, TN) in a A District 4 bout, on Tuesday, November 27. Whitwell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 39-38 non-league win over Sequatchie County (Dunlap, TN).
