Terrell Tigers (Terrell, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Ferris Yellowjackets (Ferris, TX), 4-2 in a non-league test.
With the win, Terrell upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Tigers host North Forney (Forney, TX) to battle the Falcons in a 4A Region II District 10 test on Tuesday, March 5. The Falcons come into the test with a record of 1-7. North Forney lost 19-2 in their recent non-league test against Faith Christian (Grapevine, TX)
With the defeat, Ferris falls to 5-5 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Teague (Teague, TX) to battle the Lions in a non-league test on Saturday, March 2. The Lions come into the test with a record of 3-0. Teague won 8-7 in their recent non-league test against Palmer (Palmer, TX)






A tight game was decided in the eighth inning as Ferris Yellowjackets Varsity fell to Terrell 4-2 in eight innings on Saturday at Ferris. Evan Pontley was hot from the plate for Ferris Yellowjackets Varsity. Pontley went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning. Lorenzo Garcia handled Terrell's lineup with ease, racking up 13 strikeouts. Garcia allowed one earned run, six hits and four walks over eight innings. Horn recorded the win for Terrell. He allowed only two runs over seven innings. Horn struck out 4 , walked none and gave up four hits. Terrell jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A solo home run by Chaney started the inning off. Terrell pushed more runs across when Patton scored on an RBI single by Priddy.
