The Sweeny Bulldogs baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting La Marque Cougars to 1 in the Bulldogs league victory on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (10-5) will now prepare for their match against Columbia (West Columbia, TX). The Roughnecks go into the 3A Region III District 24 match with a 22-1 record. In their last match, Columbia gained a win over La Marque (La Marque, TX), 4-0, in a league test.

With the defeat, La Marque falls to 5-7 on the season. The Cougars host Columbia (West Columbia, TX) to battle the Roughnecks in a 3A Region III District 24 test on Thursday, April 17. The Roughnecks come into the test with a record of 21-1. Columbia won 7-2 in their recent league test against Stafford (Stafford, TX)
