The Rice Bulldogs baseball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Malakoff Tigers to 3 in the Bulldogs non-league victory on Friday.

The Bulldogs (1-3) will now prepare for their match against Mexia (Mexia, TX). The Black Cats go into the non-league match with a 0-3 record. In their last test, Mexia by Riesel (Riesel, TX), 8-1, in a non-league test.

With the defeat, Malakoff falls to 1-2 on the season. The Tigers host Kerens (Kerens, TX) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league test on Saturday, March 4. The Bobcats come into the test with a record of 4-1. Kerens lost 7-6 in their recent non-league test against Mildred (Corsicana, TX)
