Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting McKinney Lions (McKinney, TX), 56-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amarillo upgrades its record to 10-8 on the season. The Sandies travel to Waxahachie (Waxahachie, TX) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 30. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 3-13. Waxahachie lost 68-32 in their recent non-league bout against Texas (Texarkana, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Terrell Tigers (Terrell, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 29. McKinney will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record.
