Comanche Indians (Comanche, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX), 60-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Comanche upgrades its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Indians host Clyde (Clyde, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region I District 7 bout on Friday, January 11. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 15-6. Clyde lost 31-24 in their recent league bout against Eastland (Eastland, TX)

Next up, the Badgers play the Cisco Loboes (Cisco, TX) in a 2A Region I District 7 bout, on Friday, January 11. Merkel will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Loboes come into the bout with a 3-3 record after their 63-50 league win over Dublin (Dublin, TX).
