Utopia Buffaloes (Utopia, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Comstock Panthers (Comstock, TX), 56-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Utopia upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Buffaloes travel to Knippa (Knippa, TX) to encounter the Crushers in a 1A-2 Region IV District 31 bout on Tuesday, January 20. The Crushers go into the bout with a record of 12-5.

Next up, the Panthers encounter the Sunnybrook Christian Lions (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 23. Comstock will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 56-44 non-league loss to Austin Christian (Austin, TX).
