Rachel Palmer has been named player of the year. "The Reason for the season. Statistically had a banner year last year compared to this season. However, her leadership and drive was focal point of success for the team and the softball program in general. Never took her eye off of team goals. Played ever game like it was the last, and refused her teammates to let down or lose hope in even the most desperate of times. Played the game with appreciation not entitlement. Set the best of example to her teammates and other sport's peers. Lead her team to most wins in a season twice, most appearances in the playoffs (back to back), most consecutive wins in a season, most runs in a season, most hits in a season, most homeruns in a season (Marcie Moss), most wins by a pitcher in a season (Kassidy Welty) as well as many more first for the program. She will be missed, but leaves the program to great upcoming leaders to carry on as she continues her softball career at the next level. She will attend OKWU on a softball/academic scholarship."
