Daniel Smith has been named player of the year. "The consummate Leadoff hitter & Center Fielder for the Lobos led the team in Hits (15), Runs (16), Doubles (8), Stolen Bases (11), & tied for Home Runs (1). He also finished 2nd in RBI (7) & 3rd in Batting Average (.288). As a defender, no outfielder could match his Fielding Percentage of .939, converting on 31 of 33 chances in the field. It will be difficult to replace this Senior, but hopefully his career will continue at San Jacinto College and he will return with insight & knowledge for our Program to use for future seasons.
