Caldwell Hornets (Caldwell, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Whitney Wildcats (Whitney, TX), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Normangee for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 3. Caldwell will face a Panthers squad coming off a 16-1 non-league win over Dawson (Dawson, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 10-0.

With the loss, Whitney falls to 11-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Grapeland (Grapeland, TX) to face the Sandies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 3. The Sandies enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Grapeland lost 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Fairfield (Fairfield, TX)
