In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Douglass Indians (Douglass, TX) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Gary Bobcats (Gary, TX), by a margin of 17-1.

With the triumph, Douglass moves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Indians host Martinsville (Martinsville, TX) to play the Pirates in a 1A Region III District 20 contest on Friday, March 13. The Pirates come into the contest with a record of 0-0.

In their next game, the Bobcats play the Wells Pirates (Wells, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, March 10. Gary will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
