The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Hooks Hornets (Hooks, TX) and the host Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), observed Hooks's softball team get by Pine Tree by a tally of 6-2.

The Hornets (4-2) will now prepare for their bout against New Diana (Diana, TX). The Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 4-3 record. In their last bout, New Diana was routed by Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 8-7, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Beckville Bearcats (Beckville, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 28. Pine Tree will attempt to advance on its 2-7 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 9-1 non-league win over Harleton (Harleton, TX).
