Carly Evens

Carly Evens has been named player of the year. "When we (coaches) discussed the criteria for Player of the Year it became clear, early on, that one student-athlete on our team exemplified nearly everything on our list of who we thought our Player of the Year candidate should be for the 14/15 season. Carly Evens, a four year varsity letter winner has had a consistent and steady career as a setter for Summit Academy High School. She's a hard working player and student who showed steady leadership as First Captain this year. Her talent as a setter doesn't always show up in set and match wins, nor in stats, but found in her drive, ambition, and willpower to work hard in her development as a setter. Carly's had young, less experienced hitters to set her whole career and she's always found a way to get them consistent sets to hit. She took verbal command of the court and managed on our offense every night we trained or competed this year and she did that while motivating others to work harder every point, set, and match played."
