With the win, James River upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Knights host Radford (Radford, VA) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 26. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Radford won 3-2 in their recent non-league battle against Auburn (Riner, VA)

The Cougars now possess a 10-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glenvar for a non-league battle on Tuesday, May 26. Covington will play a Highlanders squad coming off a 7-4 non-league win over Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 15-1.

The Knights captured both the district tournament and regular-season championships for the 5th straight year. Tyler Duke threw 4 innings of 1-hit relief for the win, striking out 7 and walking none. Andrew Tucker went 4-for-4 with 2 triples, a double, 5 RBI's, and 3 runs scored. Ryan Hepler and Brent Cummings each went 2-for-3, and Brent also scored 3 runs.
