The Surry County Cougars basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the visiting Smithfield Packers to 56 in the Cougars non-league victory on Saturday.
The Cougars now sport a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Chesterfield Community for a A Tri-Rivers contest on Tuesday, December 11. Surry County will meet a Eagles team coming off a 86-30 non-league loss to Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-2.
The Packers (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Grafton (Yorktown, VA). The Clippers come into the AA Bay Rivers contest with a 4-2 record. In their last contest, Grafton edged Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA), 76-46, in a league contest.
