Stowe Raiders (Stowe, VT) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Northfield Marauders (Northfield, VT), 59-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Stowe upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Raiders travel to Hazen (Hardwick, VT) to play the Wildcats in a Mountain bout on Wednesday, January 2. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 6-0. Hazen won 56-33 in their recent non-league bout against Twinfield (Plainfield, VT)

Next up, the Marauders play the Craftsbury Academy Chargers (Craftsbury Common, VT) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 3. Northfield will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 0-5 record after their 69-41 non-league loss to Richford (Richford, VT).
