Marathon Red Raiders (Marathon, WI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Tomahawk Hatchets (Tomahawk, WI), 61-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Marathon upgrades its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Red Raiders host Pittsville (Pittsville, WI) to battle the Panthers in a Marawood - South battle on Tuesday, January 5. The Panthers come into the battle with a record of 2-6. Pittsville lost 67-41 in their recent league battle against Newman (Wausau, WI)

The Hatchets (1-6) will now prepare for their battle against Phillips (Phillips, WI). The Loggers come into the non-league battle with a 7-0 record. In their last battle, Phillips triumphed over Wausaukee (Wausaukee, WI), 67-32, in a non-league battle.
