Austin Ball has been named player of the year. "Ball named captain of the Class A first-team all-staters by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association after averaging 20.3 points per game. Ball helped lead Man to its first ever state championship in boys basketball. During Man's state tournament run, the 6'7'' junior averaged 24 points in wins over Tucker County, Webster County and Pendleton County. No other player in the Class A field has more points (72) than Ball and only one, Tug Valley's Caleb May (26.0 PPG), had a better scoring average than Ball's 24 points per contest. Ball became the 12th player to score 1,000 points in his career during Man's quarterfinal victory over Tucker. He Man in scoring, points, field goals made, field goal attempts and blocks. He was second on the team in field goal percentage, free throws made, free throws attempted, offensive rebounds, rebounds and steals. Ball led the Hillbillies in scoring in 13 of the team's 18 games and had 12 games of 20 points or more and had eight double-doubles. "
