Coaches Game Summary

After the long awaited pitching debut of All Moore League performer, Jose Franquez, he certainly did not disappoint his team or the many fans who saw him pitch Friday against the Generals of Washington Prep HS. Franquez pitched 4 scoreless innings of the 5 inning contest by allowing just two hits, walking two batters, and striking out 10 batters.Franquez, who had not pitched in several months, looked to be in total command of his pitches and Coach John Thompson saw very few flaws in his mechanics. After a scoreless first inning, the 'Babes' of Compton put up 14 runs in the bottom of the second inning and two more in the third inning to run their non-conference record to a perfect 7-0. Compton was led by Robert Navarro who went 2-4 with 5 RBI's and Andy Rosales who was 3-3 with 4 RBI's. Next up for Compton is Rancho Dominguez Prep in an away game starting at 6pm. The 'Babes' will open Moore League play on Friday, March 27th against the Lakewood Lancers at CHS @ 3:15.
