In Tuesday's league challenge, the Lakewood Lancers (Lakewood, CA) baseball squad triumphed over the visiting Compton Tarbabes (Compton, CA), by a final score of 24-1.

With the win, Lakewood upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Lancers travel to Woodrow Wilson (Long Beach, CA) to encounter the Bruins in a Moore challenge on Friday, March 28. The Bruins come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Woodrow Wilson won 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Jordan (Long Beach, CA)

With the defeat, Compton falls to 1-4 on the season. The Tarbabes host Cabrillo (Long Beach, CA) to encounter the Jaguars in a Moore bout on Friday, March 28. The Jaguars enter the bout with a record of 0-4. Cabrillo lost 14-2 in their recent non-league bout against North (Torrance, CA)

The Compton Tarbabes took on the defending Moore League Champions, Lakewood Lancers and they showed just why they have no intentions of relinquishing their crown anytime soon. The Lancers guided by their impeccable head coach, Spud O'Neil, pounded out 19 hits on their was to a resounding 24-1 win over 'Babes'. The Lancers scored early and often by putting up a 7 spot in the very first inning and closing out the scoring with an 8 run 6th inning. Compton started pitching ace, Andy Rosales who has been nursing a sore left shoulder for nearly a month, but the Lancers showed no mercy as they had 7 hits in the first frame. With a make shift infield and outfield of newly called up JV players, Compton at times showed some shoddy defense and were not much help in support of Rosales' pitching efforts or that of Devante Guidry, who relieved Rosales in the 4th inning. The Lancers threw 5 different pitchers against the 'Babes' and limited them to only 3 hits in the 7 inning contest.
