Coaches Game Summary

In what was perhaps the best game played by Compton in the very competitive Moore League, the 'Babes' took it on the chin again losing to the Jackrabbits of Long Beach Poly, 5-3. Compton played it's first Moore League game of the season without making any errors. Coach John Thompson said after the game, "this is the way we played coming into the Moore League season, errorless baseball". Compton had high expectations for the league season after winning 8 straight non-conference games, only to see countless errors cause them to remain in basement of the Moore League standings. Thompson is hoping to win at least two of the final three games to finish at the .500 mark. After the 'Babes' got off to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Poly scored 2 runs in their home half. Compton tied the scored at 2-2 in the top of the third inning, only to see Poly add 3 total runs in the next two innings. Three walks in those two frames saw each runner scoring making it more painful for Compton.
