Arkansas High School Basketball - Forrest City thwarts Southside
January 2, 2024: Batesville, AR 72501 The Forrest City Mustangs (Forrest City, AR) basketball knocked off the host Southside Southerners (Batesville, AR), 71-53 in Tuesday's league test.
The Mustangs (7-8) will now prepare for their test against Pocahontas (Pocahontas, AR). The Redskins go into the 4A Region 3 test with a 2-8 record. In their last test, Pocahontas went down by Blytheville (Blytheville, AR), 57-40, in a league test.
The Southerners now own a 7-6 record. They play next when they travel to Brookland for a 4A Region 3 test on Friday, January 5. Southside will encounter a Bearcats squad coming off a 48-41 league win over Highland (Hardy, AR). The Bearcats record now stands at 13-3.
