Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX), 76-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Veterans Memorial upgrades its record to 23-1 on the season. The Patriots host Seguin (Seguin, TX) to clash with the Matadors in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, January 5. The Matadors go into the bout with a record of 11-9. Seguin lost 64-40 in their recent league bout against Wagner (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Rangers clash with the Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout, on Friday, January 5. Smithson Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 5-17 record after their 69-62 league loss to Pieper (San Antonio, TX).
