Texas High School Basketball - Veterans Memorial fells Smithson Valley

Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX), 68-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Veterans Memorial upgrades its record to 30-1 on the season. The Patriots travel to Seguin (Seguin, TX) to play the Matadors in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Matadors go into the bout with a record of 13-14. Seguin lost 64-52 in their recent league bout against Wagner (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Rangers play the Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Smithson Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 7-16 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 7-22 record after their 46-45 league loss to Pieper (San Antonio, TX).
