In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Union Mine Diamondbacks basketball team scored a tight 49-43 triumph over the Placer Hillmen.

In their next game, the Diamondbacks meet the Oakmont Vikings (Roseville, CA) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, January 3. Union Mine will attempt to better on its 10-7 season record.
