Nevada High School Basketball - Smith Valley sneaks past Pershing County

The Smith Valley Bulldogs (Smith, NV) basketball edged the host Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV), 64-59 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Bulldogs now possess a 9-1 record. They play next when they host Whittell for a 1A West bout on Saturday, January 4. Smith Valley will play a Warriors team coming off a 75-31 non-league loss to Westwood (Westwood, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Pershing County falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Yerington (Yerington, NV) to play the Lions in a 2A Northern bout on Friday, January 3. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Yerington won 49-39 in their recent league bout against North Tahoe (Tahoe City, CA)
