North Carolina High School Basketball - Sun Valley overwhelms Monroe

January 3, 2024: Monroe, NC 28112

Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the host Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC), saw Sun Valley's basketball squad wallop Monroe by a tally of 61-13.

With the victory, Sun Valley improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to confront the Cavaliers in a 4A Southern Carolina challenge on Friday, January 5. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 4-8. Cuthbertson lost 57-32 in their recent non-league challenge against Providence (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Redhawks confront the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Rocky River challenge, on Friday, January 5. Monroe will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 45-42 non-league win over York (York, SC).
