Illinois High School Basketball - Schaumburg overwhelms Downers Grove South
January 3, 2025: Downers Grove, IL 60516 The Schaumburg Saxons basketball team scored 55 points and limited the host Downers Grove South Mustangs to 30 in the Saxons non-league triumph on Friday.
The Saxons now have a 10-5 record. They play next when they host Elgin for a non-league game on Saturday, January 4. Schaumburg will confront a Maroons team coming off a 63-28 league loss to Aurora East (Aurora, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 2-15.
With the loss, Downers Grove South falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL) to confront the Ramblers in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. The Ramblers go into the game with a record of 13-4. Loyola Academy won 56-38 in their recent non-league game against Barron Collier (Naples, FL)
