January 4, 2023: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 The James Monroe Yellow Jackets basketball team scored 78 points and restricted the visiting Maggie Walker to 59 in the Yellow Jackets non-league victory on Wednesday.
With the win, James Monroe upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Yellow Jackets host Culpeper County (Culpeper, VA) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Battlefield bout on Friday, January 6. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Culpeper County won 62-44 in their recent non-league bout against Manassas Park (Manassas Park, VA)
Next up, the clash with the Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons (Petersburg, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. Maggie Walker will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 0-9 record after their 79-13 non-league loss to Carver College and Career Academy (Chester, VA).
