Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Shaler Area tops New Castle
January 4, 2024: New Castle, PA 16101 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Shaler Area Titans (Pittsburgh, PA) and the host New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), saw Shaler Area's basketball squad knock off New Castle by a count of 52-33.
With the victory, Shaler Area upgrades its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Titans host Mars (Mars, PA) to play the Fightin' Planets in a WPIAL 5A 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Fightin' Planets come into the challenge with a record of 6-5. Mars lost 78-70 in their recent league challenge against Armstrong (Kittanning, PA)
Next up, the Hurricanes play the North Hills Indians (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. New Castle will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 45-37 league win over Shaler Area (Pittsburgh, PA).
