January 5, 2024: Montezuma, IA 50171 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Belle Plaine Plainsmen (Belle Plaine, IA) and the host Montezuma Braves (Montezuma, IA), saw Belle Plaine's basketball squad overcome Montezuma by a tally of 54-38.
With the victory, Belle Plaine improves its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Plainsmen host H-L-V (Victor, IA) to confront the Warriors in a South Iowa Cedar challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. H-L-V won 62-23 in their recent league challenge against Tri-County (Thornburg, IA)
Next up, the Braves confront the English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) in a South Iowa Cedar challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Montezuma will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 76-31 league loss to Lynnville-Sully (Sully, IA).
