The McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Beresford Watchdogs to 37 in the Fighting Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

The Fighting Cougars now sport a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hanson for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 10. McCook Central/Montrose will battle a Beavers team coming off a 54-49 non-league loss to Viborg/Hurley (Viborg, SD). The Beavers record now stands at 4-2.

The Watchdogs (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Flandreau (Flandreau, SD). The Fliers enter the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Flandreau was nudged by Castlewood (Castlewood, SD), 38-31, in a non-league contest.
