Greenwich Cardinals (Greenwich, CT) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT), 51-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Greenwich upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Ludlowe (Fairfield, CT) to clash with the Falcons in a Fairfield County bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 3-2. Ludlowe won 53-37 in their recent league bout against Bridgeport Central (Bridgeport, CT)

Next up, the Nighthawks clash with the Brookfield Bobcats (Brookfield, CT) in a Southwest bout, on Monday, January 9. Newtown will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 61-60 league loss to Immaculate (Danbury, CT).
