Minnesota High School Basketball - Wayzata nips Shakopee
January 7, 2023: Shakopee, MN 55379 Wayzata Trojans (Plymouth, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Shakopee Sabers (Shakopee, MN), 69-63 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Wayzata upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Trojans travel to Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park, MN) to play the Red Knights in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Red Knights go into the bout with a record of 7-0. Benilde-St. Margaret's won 74-64 in their recent league challenge against Mound-Westonka (Mound, MN)
Next up, the Sabers confront the Prior Lake Lakers (Prior Lake, MN) in a AAAA Section 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Shakopee will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Lakers come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 67-54 non-league win over Apple Valley (Apple Valley, MN).
