Nevada High School Basketball - Fernley can't hold off Elko

Elko Indians (Elko, NV) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Fernley Vaqueros (Fernley, NV), 50-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Elko upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Indians host Spring Creek (Spring Creek, NV) to play the Spartans in a 3A North - East bout on Friday, January 14. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 12-1. Spring Creek won 31-20 in their recent league bout against Dayton (Dayton, NV)

Next up, the Vaqueros play the Churchill County Greenwave (Fallon, NV) in a 3A North - East bout, on Wednesday, January 12. Fernley will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Greenwave go into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 60-18 league loss to Lowry (Winnemucca, NV).
