January 8, 2024: Brockwell, AR 72517 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR) and the visiting Pocahontas Redskins (Pocahontas, AR), saw Izard County's basketball squad overcome Pocahontas by a tally of 61-46.
With the victory, Izard County improves its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Cougars host Lead Hill (Lead Hill, AR) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 8. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 2-22. Lead Hill lost 54-40 in their recent league challenge against Deer (Deer, AR)
Next up, the Redskins play the Brookland Bearcats (Brookland, AR) in a 4A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Pocahontas will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 49-38 league win over Highland (Hardy, AR).
