The Morton Indians (Morton, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX), 53-21 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Indians (6-6) will now prepare for their test against Cotton Center (Cotton Center, TX). The Elks go into the 1A Region I District 7 test with a 8-13 record. In their last test, Cotton Center was trounced by Meadow (Meadow, TX), 73-45, in a league test.

The Chieftans now own a 4-17 record. They play next when they host Lamesa for a 3A Region I District 3 test on Friday, January 13. Friona will meet a Tornadoes team coming off a 60-59 league win over Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX). The Tornadoes record now stands at 20-2.
