North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe tops West Stanly

January 11, 2024: Monroe, NC 28112

Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC), 50-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Monroe upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Redhawks travel to Parkwood (Monroe, NC) to play the Wolf Pack in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wolf Pack come into the bout with a record of 8-6. Parkwood won 74-65 in their recent league bout against Anson (Wadesboro, NC)

Next up, the Colts play the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout, on Friday, January 12. West Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a 7-6 record after their 67-60 league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC).
