Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC), saw Piedmont's basketball squad overcome Monroe by a tally of 65-53.

With the victory, Piedmont improves its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a 2A/3A Rocky River challenge on Friday, February 2. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 9-9. Forest Hills lost 61-46 in their recent league challenge against Parkwood (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Redhawks play the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 31. Monroe will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 17-1 record after their 73-58 league win over Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
