The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the West Lafayette Red Devils (West Lafayette, IN) and the host Covington Trojans (Covington, IN), observed West Lafayette's basketball team overcome Covington by a margin of 70-51.

The Red Devils (9-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Rensselaer Central (Rensselaer, IN). The Bombers come into the Hoosier - West challenge with a 3-8 record. In their last challenge, Rensselaer Central dropped by West Central (Francesville, IN), 72-54, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Parke Heritage Wolves (Rockville, IN) in a Wabash River challenge, on Friday, January 17. Covington will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record.
