Taft Wildcats (Taft, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host McFarland Cougars (McFarland, CA), 83-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Taft upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Wildcats host Wasco (Wasco, CA) to play the Tigers in a South Sequoia bout on Wednesday, January 19. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-8. Wasco lost 52-33 in their recent league bout against Kennedy (Delano, CA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Kennedy Thunderbirds (Delano, CA) in a South Sequoia bout, on Friday, January 14. McFarland will attempt to move on its 10-8 season record. The Thunderbirds enter the game with a 9-11 record after their 62-43 non-league win over Delano (Delano, CA).
