Arizona High School Basketball - Desert Mountain nips Higley

Desert Mountain Wolves (Scottsdale, AZ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Higley Knights (Gilbert, AZ), 67-63 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Desert Mountain upgrades its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Wolves host Chaparral (Scottsdale, AZ) to play the Firebirds in a 5A Northeast Valley bout on Friday, January 13. The Firebirds come into the bout with a record of 8-9. Chaparral won 86-66 in their recent non-league bout against Casteel (Queen Creek, AZ)

Next up, the Knights play the Cactus Shadows Falcons (Cave Creek, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Higley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 70-46 non-league loss to Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ).
