January 12, 2023: Tremont, IL 61568 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) and the host Tremont Turks (Tremont, IL), saw Deer Creek-Mackinaw's basketball squad knock off Tremont by a count of 46-27.
With the victory, Deer Creek-Mackinaw upgrades its record to 18-3 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Heyworth (Heyworth, IL) to play the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 16. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 14-8. Heyworth won 47-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL)
Next up, the Turks play the Ridgeview Mustangs (Colfax, IL) in a Heart Of Illinois challenge, on Monday, January 23. Tremont will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 8-14 record after their 49-33 non-league loss to Tri-Valley (Downs, IL).
