The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks basketball team (Charlottesville, VA), was nudged 50-49 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Blue Ridge Barons (St. George, VA)

The Barons now sport a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Roanoke Catholic for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 17. Blue Ridge will battle a Celtics team coming off a 71-55 non-league loss to Life Christian Academy (Chester, VA). The Celtics record now stands at 12-5.

The Mavericks (8-6) will now prepare for their battle against Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA). The Tigers come into the Virginia Independent battle with a 9-3 record. In their last battle, Hargrave Military Academy was nudged by Oak Hill Academy - Red (Mouth of Wilson, VA), 84-70, in a non-league battle.
