In Friday's league outing, the Cary Imps (Cary, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Middle Creek Mustangs (Apex, NC), by a margin of 53-51.

The Imps (6-11) will now prepare for their outing against Green Level (Cary, NC). The Gators go into the 4A Conference 29 outing with a 13-2 record.

The Mustangs now own a 5-11 record. They play next when they travel to Riverside-Durham for a non-league outing on Monday, January 16. Middle Creek will clash with a Pirates squad coming off a 66-57 league win over Southern Alamance (Graham, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 8-9.
