Virginia High School Basketball - Northumberland can't hold off Essex

January 13, 2023: Tappahannock, VA 22560

The Essex Trojans basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Northumberland Indians to 49 in the Trojans league triumph on Friday.

In their next game, the Trojans meet the Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 14. Essex will attempt to better on its 5-5 season record. The Chargers enter the match with a 4-7 record after their 56-40 league loss to Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA).

With the defeat, Northumberland moves to 4-4 on the year. The Indians host Lancaster (Lancaster, VA) to meet the Red Devils in a Northern Neck match on Tuesday, January 17.
