Virginia High School Basketball - Northumberland fells Mathews

December 15, 2022: Mathews, VA 23109

Northumberland Indians (Heathsville, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 85-76 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northumberland upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Indians travel to Middlesex (Saluda, VA) to clash with the Chargers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Middlesex won 90-43 in their recent league bout against King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) in a Tidewater bout, on Friday, December 16. Mathews will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Pointers go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 76-44 non-league loss to Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg, VA).
