Merino Rams (Merino, CO) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wiggins Tigers (Wiggins, CO), 57-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Merino upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Rams host Genoa-Hugo/Karval (Hugo, CO) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 7-1. Genoa-Hugo/Karval won 44-42 in their recent league bout against Byers (Byers, CO)

Next up, the Tigers play the Idalia Wolves (Idalia, CO) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Wiggins will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 67-64 league loss to Otis (Otis, CO).
