In Friday's non-league outing, the Sunnyside Blue Devils (Tucson, AZ) basketball squad beat the visiting Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ), by a margin of 62-49.

The Blue Devils (14-6) will now prepare for their outing against Rincon/University (Tucson, AZ). The Rangers go into the 6A South outing with a 9-10 record. In their last outing, Rincon/University defeated Cholla (Tucson, AZ), 76-22, in a non-league outing.

The Nighthawks now own a 12-6 record. They play next when they host Mountain View for a 5A Southern outing on Monday, January 16. Ironwood Ridge will clash with a Mountain Lions squad coming off a 48-38 non-league loss to Nogales (Nogales, AZ). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 3-10.
